Matthew Carter – Navy Rear Admiral (Ret.), Chairman of NOVA Vets
Matthew Carter a retired Navy Rear Admiral, who spent 34 years serving in the military continues his service as the recently elected chair of the board for the Northern Virginia Veterans Association (NOVA Veterans). Carter previously served as a board member.
While he served in the Navy, Carter flew the P-3C Orion maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft. After retiring in 2019, Carter joined Booz Allen Hamilton and assumed a leadership role overseeing operations in the western Pacific for a three-year tenure. In addition to his involvement with NOVA Veterans, Carter also contributes his expertise to the board of directors for the Maritime Patrol Association and is a dedicated member of the Japan US Military Program.

This unique approach helps the whole veteran get care. “We are the only local veteran nonprofit that performs a comprehensive veteran intake, determines priority of needs, case manages, coordinates with multiple potential service providers, advocates, and provides continual follow up to ensure services are received and continued as needed.”
